The Collegiate Church of Saint-Martin
The main church of Saint-Rémy de Provence is the Collegiate Church of Saint-Martin. It is a Catholic church where services still take place.
The organ, entirely rebuilt recently, is the instrument used every year for the concerts of the ORGANA festival.
A monumental portico of neoclassical columns, to the west, supports a large portal topped with a triangular pediment.
The building has been listed as a historical monument since 1984.
The general dimensions of the Collegiate Church of Saint-Martin are:
The dome is equipped with an oculus for zenithal lighting.
Partly rebuilt after a collapse at the beginning of the 19th century, it has retained its very slender Gothic bell tower from the 14th century, over 45 meters high. Inside, the main altar and the marble baptismal fonts date from the beginning of the 14th century, as does all the furniture with rare exceptions.
