Located at the foot of the Alpilles, the old monastery of Saint-Paul-de-Mausole from the year one thousand is built near the archaeological site of Glanum.
Different congregations of monks succeeded each other, all dedicated to the care of mental afflictions.
The most famous guest was Vincent Van Gogh, who stayed there for a year in 1889.
